final image for autechre project. Wanted to represent the personalities, hardware and software that define autechre’s music. so we got biro portraits of rob brown and sean booth, looking a little girly/ thuggish. we got dials from the Roland TR-606 to represent the importance of hardware in their music
“When we’re in the studio we’ll just turn on a bit of gear  that maybe we haven’t used for a while and try and explore it, see if  there’s something left, something latent that we can get out of it. We’d  rather not let our minds dictate before we get to the equipment.”

and the blocks and lines (thread) represent Max/MSP, a piece of software that autechre use which is “widely regarded as the lingua franca for developing interactive music performance software”. if you look at my previous post i’ve included a screenshot of one of their max/msp patches which is mental, so complex. yep.
